"Bentley's Will"
Directed by the Austin-based Zachary P. Grigg, and filmed in Charlottesville, VA, the dramedy Bentley’s Will dissects the contentious relationship between an aspiring graphic novelist and his domineering mother. Will (Phillip Andre Botello) works a meaningless catering job while living at home with his parents. But Will’s mother Bentley (Lana Young) believes in tough love, and she tells Will he needs to move out and he needs to move out now. So Will spends the day with Bentley searching for an apartment. Being stuck together in the car forces Will and Bentley to examine some hard truths about their relationship. Things only get worse when Will’s dog Bandit goes missing in the middle of town. Bentley’s Will will screen 12 p.m. May 4 at the AFS Cinema during the Cine Las Americas International Film Festival. Bentley’s Will represents Austin-based Zachary P. Grigg’s directorial debut.
