Austin Jewish Film Festival
The Austin Jewish Film Festival opens Nov. 2 with the soccer-themed biopic The Keeper at the Rollins Theater at the Long Center for the Performing Arts and continues through Nov. 8 at the Regal Arbor 8 at Great Hills. The festival’s closing film, Tel Aviv on Fire, will screen Nov. 7. The Mover, The Other Side, The Unorthodox, and Upside Down Tree round out the Austin Jewish Film Festival’s slate of narrative features. The festival also includes the documentaries Ask Dr. Ruth, Beyond the Bolex, Hidden Face, Joseph Pulitzer: Voice of the People, On the Map, and Picture of His Life. The pre-festival Social Action Short Film Program will be held Nov. 1 at Temple Beth Shalom. An encore screening of last year’s drama Shoelaces will be held Nov. 7. The festival officially closes Nov. 8 with the filmed play Golda’s Balcony.
