Interview:
Demi Zaino,
"Evil Dead The Musical"
Based on the horror classics The Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn by Sam Raimi, Evil Dead The Musical takes us back to the cabin in the woods where Ash, his sister Cheryl, and their buddies find the Book of the Dead and do battle with the evil demons and spirits they awaken. This tongue-in-cheek musical, with a book and lyrics by George Reinblatt and music by Frank Cipolla, debuted in 2003 in Toronto and played Off-Broadway in 2006. The touring production of Evil Dead The Musical runs through Sept. 21 at the Long Center. David Sajewich plays the reluctant hero Ash, the role that turned the unknown Bruce Campbell into a genre icon. Demi Zaino plays Ash’s sister Cheryl, who is violated by a tree in the film’s most infamous scene. David Sajewich joins Demi Zaino during this interview.
