ATX Television Festival
The eighth annual ATX Television Festival will be held June 6-9 at various Austin venues, including the Paramount Theatre, the Stateside at the Paramount, and the Alamo Ritz. The festival kicks off June 6 with the opening night screening of the new HBO high school drama Euphoria with star Zendaya and creator/executive producer Sam Levinson in attendance. The festival's closing night on June 8 will feature the premiere of the new Showtime crime series City On a Hill with star Kevin Bacon, creator/executive Chuck Maclean and showrunner/executive producer Tom Fontana in attendance. Bacon also will attend the screening of his unaired Tremors Syfy pilot on June 8. There will be screenings of the upcoming new shows Alternatino with Arturo Castro, David Makes Man, Everyone is Doing Great, Grand Hotel, Los Espookys, Sherman’s Showcase, Undone, and two Fox TV pilots; screenings of current shows Archer, Atypical, the Austin-shot Fear the Walking Dead, Good Trouble, Grey’s Anatomy, grown-ish, the Into the Dark film Culture Shock, Letterkenny, Perpetual Grace, LTD., Yellowstone, and Younger. Other highlights include TheLeague and Greek reunions; a Men in Trees retrospective; a One Day at A Time Cancelled-Too-Soon screening and conversation; and panels devoted to Blumhouse Television, Roswell: New Mexico, Drunk History; Hulu’s upcoming Veronica Mars revival with creator/executive producer Rob Thomas in attendance; and NBC’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place, and Superstore, with Melissa Fumero, D’Arcy Carden, and Lauren Ash in attendance. Also, there will be a screening of episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place, and Superstore at Hotel San Jose Park on June 7 that is open to the public. Finally, the ATX Television Festival will present its Award in Television eXcellence to Cosby Show and David Makes Man star Phylicia Rashad on June 7.
