Directed by former Dallasite Van Ditthavong, the Texas-set crime romance Sleeping in Plastic chronicles the unexpected relationship that develops between high school wrestler Brandon (Alex MacNicoll) and sex worker Pearla (Love and Air Sex's Addison Timlin). Both feel trapped in the small town they live in, but their desire to leave is complicated by Pearla's abusive lover Oz (Dash Mihok). Sleeping in Plastic will screen at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 at the State Theatre and 9:20 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Alamo Drafthouse Village during the Austin Film Festival. Sleeping in Plastic represents Van Ditthavong's directorial debut. Note: Sleeping in Plastic is now available to stream under its new title, All Roads to Pearla.
