Interview:
Sonja O'Hara,
director,
"Mid-Century"
Directed by Sonja O’Hara, the occult chiller Mid-Century stars Avatar’s Stephen Lang as an acclaimed architect who divides his time in the 1960s and 1970s between designing mid-century modern houses and murdering his wives as well as male residents of his suburban neighborhood. Forty years later, medical doctor Alice Dodgeson (Chelsea Gilligan) and her architect boyfriend Tom Levin (Shane West) spend the night at the house Lang’s Frederick Banner designed and lived in at the time of his killing spree. Tom becomes aware of a strange presence in the house and quickly becomes convinced that Alice’s life is in jeopardy. Mid-Century also stars screenwriter Mike Stern as Frederick Banner’s equally malevolent son Eldridge and Bruce Dern as Banner’s guide to the occult, Emil Larson. Director Sonja O’Hara also appears in Mid-Century as Alice’s friend and colleague Kerri Brenan. Mid-Century opened June 17 at the Galaxy Theatres Austin and is also available for digital and VOD viewing. Canadian actress-turned-filmmaker Sonja O’Hara previously directed Root Letter and created, directed, and starred in episodes of the web series Doomsday. Aired: June 21, 2022.
