Interview:
Julio Quintana,
writer/director,
"The Vessel"
Written and directed by the Austin-based Julio Quintana, and produced by his wife Marla Quintana, The Vessel takes us to a small Latin American fishing village that is still in mourning for the 46 children who were swept out to sea by a tsunami 10 years earlier. Julio Quintana's brother Lucas Quintana stars as Leo, the brother of one of the victims. His decision to build a vessel from the wreckage of a destroyed elementary school divides the community. Martin Sheen stars as Father Douglas, the priest who remains dedicated to healing the wounds of his parishioners despite their resistance. Shot in both English and Spanish, The Vessel marks the directorial debut of writer/director Julio Quintana and is produced by his wife Marla Quintana (Showtime's sports documentary Disgraced, premiering March 31). Ranking Terrence Malick among its executive producers, The Vessel is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD and VOD. Producer Marla Quintana joins writer/director Julio Quintana during this interview.
