Austin Polish Film Festival
The Austin Polish Film Festival will run Oct. 22-25 at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre. The festival, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, will open Oct. 22 with The Gods, a biography of Prof. Zbigniew Religa, the cardiac surgeon who performed the first successful heart transplant in Poland. Other films include the drama Close-Ups, Warsaw ’44, and The Word, the thrillers Anatomy of Evil and A Grain of Truth, the Cold War-era spy drama Jack Strong, starring Fargo’s Patrick Wilson, and the documentaries Jurek and Joanna.
