Interview: RJ LaForce,
co-programmer,
the Off-Centered Film Festival
Climb into your favorite Evel Knievel jumpsuit and get ready to get your stunt on during this year’s Off-Centered Film Fest. The theme of this year’s celebration of film, food and craft beer is Stuntin’, which explains why the fest opens April 24 with the 2007 comedy Hot Rod, with director Akiva Schaffer and star Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone—a.k.a. the comedy troupe The Lonely Island—in attendance for a post-screening Q&A as well for a show on April 25. There also will be screenings of Jackie Chan’s Drunken Master, Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider, Harold Lloyd’s Safety Last, and the 1978 documentary Stunt Rock. Presented by the Alamo Drafthouse and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, the Off-Centered Film Fest kicks off 6 p.m. April 24 at Fiesta Gardens with Hot Rod and continues through April 26 at the Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline. Co-coordinator/co-programmer RJ LaForce also serves as programmer/creative manager for the Alamo Drafthouse. Aired: April 24, 2014 Web site: http://offcenteredfilmfest.com/ |
