Alamo Drafthouse director of programming for Austin and San Antonio R.J. LaForce previews the June 2019 programming at the Alamo Drafthouse Austin. The Ritz will host a series of sci-fi and alien creature features, including Predator, the Alien sequels and prequels, director's cut of The Abyss, a Star Trek triple bill on June 15 and the June 22 "Aliensploitation Marathon" of four mystery offerings from the American Genre Film Archive. Director Sheldon Lettich will attend a screening of his Jean-Claude Van Damme thriller Double Impact on June 9 at the Ritz. At the Alamo South Lamar, the Terror Tuesday series will include the 2017 Argentine chiller Crystal Eyes while the Weird Wednesday series gets its groove on with the Village People's 1980s musical Can't Stop the Music. The Alamo Drafthouse also aims to keep its young patrons entertained during the summer with such kids camp offerings as Paddington 2, Shrek, and Trolls. Finally, a restored version of Spike Lee's 1989 classic Do the Right Thing will screen the week of June 24 at various theaters.
