In writer/director Jazmin Diaz’s SXSW short drama Carne Seca, two young brothers in rural Mexico try to make a profit selling meat door to door before their product spoils. If they don’t, they risk incurring their father’s wrath. Cristian Miranda and Victor Mondragon star as the two brothers. UT student Jazmin Diaz previously directed the 2011 shorts Keep a Conscience and Random Access Memory. Carne Seca will screen during the SXSW Film Festival as part of the Texas Shorts Competition package at 9:30 p.m. March 13 at Rollins Theatre at The Long Center, 1:30 p.m. March 17 at the Topfer Theatre at ZACH, and 8:30 p.m. March 19 at the Vimeo Theater.
