To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the Austin Film Society will launch a series of narrative features and shorts handpicked by founder and artistic director Richard Linklater that represent the society’s programming mission these past three decades. Richard Linklater’s 30 Years of AFS series begins 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre with Jean Luc Godard’s Masculin-Feminin. The series will continue with a shorts package that include entries by David Lynch and Kenneth Anger as well the features Los Olvidaos, Ticket of No Return, New York, New York, The Ceremony, and Pickpocket. Austin Film Society executive director Rebecca Campbell and founding board members Charles Ramirez-Berg and Chale Nafus preview Richard Linklater’s 30 Years of AFS series.
