Interview:
Cody Hackman,
"Gridlocked"
In a nod to such 1980s action films as The Hard Way and Die Hard, director Allan Ungar's thriller Gridlocked pairs Dominic Purcell's cop David Hendrix with troubled, scandal-plagued actor Brody Walker (Tapped Out's Cody Hackman) as part of a diversion program designed to keep Walker out of jail. Walker gets more than he bargained for when Hendrix takes him to visit the SWAT unit he used to lead. When the isolated SWAT headquarters is attacked by hackers and mercenaries (led by Stephen Lang and Vinnie Jones), Hendrix and his former SWAT buddies go to work to prevent seized assets from falling into the wrong hands. Gridlocked also stars Danny Glover, James A. Woods, Steve Byers and former WWE wrestler Trisha Stratus as SWAT members fighting alongside Purcell. Hackman previously starred in Allan Ungar's Tapped Out, a mixed martial arts riff on The Karate Kid. Ungar co-wrote Girdlocked with Rob Robol. Gridlocked premiered locally during last year’s Fantastic Fest and is now available on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download. Lights Camera Austin spoke with Hackman, Ungar and Robol during Fantastic Fest.
