Paramount100, Part 1: The Silent Era
![]() The Paramount Thetare won't turn 100 until the fall of 2015 but that's not stopping the theatre from kicking off its centennial celebrations. The new classic film series Paramount100: A Century of Cinema presents some of the most influential films of the past 100 years. The series begins 7 p.m. Jan. 29 with Part 1: The Silent Era and will include shorts by Georges Méliès, D.W. Griffith, and Max Linder. Part 1: The Silent Era runs through April 2; films include Battleship Potemkin, The General, Intolerance, The Kid, Metropolis, and Nosferatu.
