"Learning Not to Drown"
Written and directed by Dallas-based filmmaker Prithvi Raj Karreddula, the short drama Learning Not to Drown follows a perturbed man’s day-long frantic search for his apparently missing wife and their infant child. But Charlie’s efforts to find his wife Sheela and their daughter Joy is met with a surprising lack of concern by everyone he asks for help. Learning Not to Drown writer/director Prithvi Raj Karreddula wrote the role of Charlie for his friend and frequent collaborator Sri Chilukuri while Sasha Singh, who plays Sheela, also serves as the short’s production designer. Learning Not to Drown will screen at 6:15 p.m. April 12 before the documentary All That Breathes at the AFS Cinema during the 8th Indie Meme Film Festival. Learning Not to Drown will also be available to stream April 28-May 1 during the Indie Meme Film Festival’s virtual programming. Dallas-based Prithvi Raj Karreddula previously directed the short films Audible Frequency, Humans, and Bhoomi.
