Interview:
Mickey Keating,
writer/director,
"Psychopaths"
"Maybe chaos is just chaos” intones the narrator of Psychopaths, the new chiller by Darling writer/director Mickey Keating. Maybe, but the chaos that the spirit of a recently executed serial killer (iconic writer/director Larry Fessenden) creates on one fateful night cannot be denied. Four serial killers (Ashley Bell, Angela Trimbur, James Landry Hébert, and Sam Zimmerman) go about their business on the so-called "Night of Chaos," targeting innocent and not-so innocent victims. But, as the night grows long, it becomes evident that not all of these psychopaths will live to enjoy the thrill of the kill. Psychopaths opened Dec. 1 in Austin at the Galaxy Highland 10. Mickey Keating previously directed Ritual, Pod, Darling, and Carnage Park, which also starred Ashley Bell and James Landry Hébert. Keating also hosts The Core, a weekly talk show on the streaming service Shudder that is devoted to genre filmmaking.
