"People With Issues"
Writer-director Dan Siegelstein’s Austin-shot People with Issues began as a short film before being expanded into a 7-episode web series. But when Siegelstein and co-writer Jeff Storms began working on the second season of the web series, they decided to retrofit their script into a long-planned feature film. The characters—three friends sharing their very different problems with women—remain the same. Dano Colon’s comic-book artist Darren pines for his ex-girlfriend. Tanner Kalina’s librarian Jack can’t muster up the courage to ask out his coworker Roberta (Stephanie Ard). Adam Mengesha’s hotel worker Aaron doesn’t realize that Jen (Brooke Marie Friesen), the girl of his dreams, is staring him in the face. People With Issues is now on DVD and available for streaming. Actress Stephanie Ard (left) and co-writer Jeff Storms (right) join People With Issues co-writer/director Daniel Siegelstein—now based in LA.—during this interview.
