"V/H/S/94"
Hail Ratma! V/H/S/94, the fourth installment in the horror anthology franchise, returns with five new chilling tales told through found footage. More important, Chloe Okuno and Jennifer Reeder represent the first women directors to contribute to the 9-year-old film franchise. Okuno’s segment, “Storm Drain,” finds a TV crew in search of a supposedly half-human/half-rat creature known as Ratma. Reeder provides the wraparound, “Holy Hell,” which follows a SWAT team into a warehouse on a drug bust that goes terribly wrong. The other segments are directed by franchise returnees Simon Barrett and Timo Tjahjanto and newcomer Ryan Prows. V/H/S/94, which premiered locally during this year’s Fantastic Fest, is now available to stream on Shudder. Chloe Okuno previously directed the short films Slut and The Dotcom. She makes her feature directorial debut with the upcoming Watcher. Jennifer Reeder previously directed Signature Move and Knives and Skin. She also directed the upcoming Night’s End. Aired: Oct. 28, 2021. Web sites: https://www.shudder.com/ https://fantasticfest.com/films/vhs-94 https://thejenniferreeder.com |
