Directed by the legendary animation and visual effects supervisor and producer Phil Tippett, the stop-motion animated Mad God offers a disturbing and darkly comic journey through a ruined world populated by warmongers, unhinged scientists, and creatures of unknown origin. More than three decades in the making, with production suspended in the early 1990s and resumed in 2010, Mad God premiered locally during Fantastic Fest 2021 and is available to stream during Fantastic Fest's FF @ Home on Oct. 3 for a 48-hour streaming window. Phil Tippett provided stop-motion and go-motion animation for Star Wars,The Empire Strikes Back, Dragonslayer, Willow, and RoboCop and RoboCop 2. He pivoted to computer-generated imagery as the dinosaur supervisor for Jurassic Park and the creature visual effects supervisor for Starship Troopers. He most recently served as the visual effects supervisor for The Twilight Saga. Tippett made his directorial debut with 2004’s DTV sequel Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation.
