![]() The inaugural MondoCon will be held Sept. 20 and 21 at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre concurrent to this year’s Fantastic Fest. Mondo is the Alamo Drafthouse’s collectible art boutique. The convention celebrates film, music, art, comic books, posters, and toys. There will be panels devoted to the art of toy-making, the lost score to 2001: A Space Odyssey, the unproduced animated version of the cult comic book Shailon Cowboy, the failed attempt to make a U.S. version of Godzilla in 1983, and the creative process behind Mondo’s beloved poster designs. There also will be screenings of the documentaries Future Shock! The Story of 2000AD and Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films as well as retrospective screenings of Total Recall and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the latter presented with a new live score written and performed by Anton Maoif and Umberto.
