"The Dry"
Based on the 2016 best-selling novel by Jane Harper, and directed by Robert Connolly, the Australian thriller The Dry stars Eric Bana as Aaron Falk, a federal police officer who returns to his small hometown for the funeral of a childhood friend, Luke. Police concluded Luke murdered his wife and son before killing himself. At his behest of Luke's parents, Falk begins his own informal investigation of the murder-suicide. As he tries to get to the truth of the tragedy, Falk must confront his own past connection to the 20-year-old unsolved murder of his close school friend, Ellie Deacon (BeBe Bettencourt). The Dry opened May 20 in Austin theaters and is also available for digital and on-demand viewing. Robert Connolly previously directed Rust Bucket, The Bank, Three Dollars, Balibo, The Turning, and Paper Planes. He also produced the Eric Bana drama Romulus, My Father and is currently directing Blueback with Bana, Mia Wasikowska, and Radha Mitchell.
