"Look & See:
A Portrait of Wendell Berry"
Directed by the Austin-based Laura Dunn, Look & See: A Portrait of Wendell Berry frames the life, career and ideology of Kentucky author, poet, activist, and farmer Wendell Berry against the socioeconomic plight of the rural farmer. Executive produced by Robert Redford and Terrence Malick, and co-produced by Nick Offerman, the documentary focuses on how rural farmers struggle to make ends meet during an age of industrial agriculture and whether alternative farming methods can provide them with long-term financial security. Laura Dunn previously directed 2000’s Green and 2007’s The Unforeseen, which examined the environmental impact to Barton Springs caused by surrounding development. Look & See premiered locally during the 2016 SXSW Film Festival under the title The Seer. Look & See opened Sept. 1 in Austin.
