Partially shot in Austin, writer/director Jennifer DeLia’s psychological drama Billy Bates dissects the mind of a troubled artist unable to get past his traumatic childhood. Houstonite James Wirt stars as Billy Bates. Former Austinite Savannah Welch, a singer/songwriter with The Trishas, costars as Bates’ muse, Kala. Jennifer DeLia makes her directorial debut with Billy Bates; her next project is The First, which will star Lilly Rabe as actress Mary Pickford. Jennifer DeLia joins James Wirt during this interview.
