"Texas AF"
Writer/director David N. Reyes’ buddy comedy Texas AF finds two twentysomething best friends and roommates facing different romantic challenges on the eve of Austin’s 2020 COVID-19 lockdown. Smooth-talking Flaco (Donato De Luca) finally meets the woman of his dreams at a party—except he does not get her name and he does not know how to locate her so he can ask her out on a date. The slightly reserved Eddy (David Allan Barrera) believes his single life is over and done with when he meets Tania (Sarah Chong Harmer). But the impending spread of the coronavirus threatens Eddy’s efforts to take his relationship with Tania to the next level as well as Flaco’s crusade to find the mystery woman he’s affectionately dubbed “Texas Tea" (Paige Steakley). Texas AF will screen at 7 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Radisson Hotel Austin North during the Austin Revolution Film Festival. Austin-based filmmaker David N. Reyes previously directed Trippin' to the Altar, My Ranger, and Empty Nester's Handbook. Aired: Feb. 3, 2022.
