"Brush With Danger"
Two-time Indonesian national kickboxing champion Ken Zheng makes his acting and writing debut with Brush With Danger, a thriller directed by Zheng’s sister, stuntwoman and fellow martial artist Livi Zheng. The siblings also play brother and sister in Brush With Danger. Chinese political refugees, Ken’s kickboxer and Livi’s painter enter the United States illegally, only to struggle to make ends meet. They are taken the patronage of a Seattle art dealer who promises to help them use their skills to make money. Then he asks Livi to forge a copy of Van Gogh painting that went missing decades earlier. Born in Indonesia, and raised in China, Ken Zheng now studies film at the University of Texas. Brush With Danger opened Oct. 17 in Austin. Ken Zheng and Livi Zheng will attend the 7 p.m. Oct. 17 screening of Brush With Danger at the Regal Metropolitan Stadium 14.
