"Boyhood"
Shot over the course of 12 years in Austin, Houston and other Texas locations, writer/director Richard Linklater’s coming-of-age tale Boyhood traces the turbulent early life of Ellar Coltrane’s Mason from age 6 through 18. Coltrane and co-star Lorelei Linklater age from kids to preteens to teenagers over the course of the film’s 166 minutes. Lorelei Linklater, who is writer/director Richard Linklater’s daughter, stars as Mason’s older sister Olivia. Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette play the siblings’ divorced parents. Austinite Ellar Coltrane appeared with Patricia Arquette in Richard Linklater’s 2006 drama Fast Food Nation. Ellar Coltrane will participate in Q&As following tomorrow’s 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. screenings at the Violet Crown Cinema. Patricia Arquette joins Ellar Coltrane during this interview.
