Interview:
John Robison,
owner,
New Republic Studios
Goodbye Spiderwood Studios, hello New Republic Studios. In November, the Bastrop County 200-acre studio facility and backlot founded by Tommy G. Warren came under the ownership and management of John S. Robison, an industry veteran and a member of the Austin Film Society board of directors. Robison plans to expand the newly christened New Republic Studios, with its four stages, into a multi-platform creative campus for the television and film industry. Bad Kids Go to Hell, Exists, In the Blood, Open Windows, and the TV shows Revolution and The Son have all shot at the studio.
