Austin Jewish Film Festival
The Austin Jewish Film Festival runs Saturday Nov. 4-10 at the Regal Arbor Cinema at Great Hills. The festival opens Saturday with the Hungarian drama 1945. Narrative features include Abulele, Fanny’s Journey, The Pickle Recipe, The Women’s Balcony, Across the Waters, and Harmonia. Documentaries include Restoring Tomorrow, Faithkeepers, Keep Quiet, Aida’s Secrets, The Last Laugh and Harold and Lillian: A Hollywood Love Story. The festival also will screen the films made during this year’s Lights! Camera! Chutzpah!, a Jewish-themed 24-hour filmmaking workshop open to all teens. A pre-festival screening of the short drama Muktzeh will be held Nov. 3 at Temple Beth Shalom. The festival will officially close Dec. 3 at Shalom Austin with the Charlie Chaplin classic The Great Dictator paired with the short The Little Dictator and the music drama Cloudy Sunday.
