Interview:
Dan Brown,
writer/director,
"Your Lucky Day"
What would you do if you had a million dollars? Or, in the case of Your Lucky Day, what would you do to get a million dollars? This is the question posed in writer/director Dan Brown’s Christmas Eve-set contained thriller about a winning lottery ticket that falls into the wrong hands. In one of his final film performances, Euphoria’s Angus Cloud stars as Sterling, a small-time criminal who walks into a convenience store just as a rich and obnoxious man purchases a lottery ticket worth $156 million. Sterling decides to steal the lottery ticket. But things get complicated when a beat cop interrupts the holdup. This morality play also stars Sterling Beaumon as Police Officer Jimmy, Mousa Hussein Kraish as convenience store owner Amir, and Jessica Garza and Elliot Knight as Ana-Marlene and Abraham, an expectant couple held hostage by Sterling. Your Lucky Day screens at 8:25 p.m. Sept. 23 and 5:20 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Alamo South Lamar during Fantastic Fest. Writer/director Dan Brown makes his feature-length directorial debut with Your Lucky Day, an expansion of his 2010 short thriller of the same name.
