Interview:
Bradley Weatherholt,
writer/director,
"The Prequels Strike Back:
A Fan's Journey"
For some Star Wars fans old enough to have stood in line to see A New Hope in 1977, their hatred for the prequel trilogy is almost as strong as their love for the original trilogy. But for younger fans who were introduced to the franchise by 1999’s A Phantom Menace, they view Star Wars not as two distinctive sets of trilogies but as an ongoing saga that continues to this day with The Force Awakens and the coming Rogue One. One such fan is the Austin-based Bradley Weatherholt, whose documentary The Prequels Strike Back: A Fan's Journey chronicles his attempt to understand why many Star Wars dismiss the prequel trilogy with such passion. By doing so, he examines the mixed feelings Star Wars fans have toward creator George Lucas, the thematic and structural similarities between both trilogies, and the future of the franchise now that Disney owns Lucasfilm. The Prequels Strike Back: A Fan's Journey is now available for digital streaming and download on Amazon, VHX and YouTube.
