Interview:
Mickey Keating,
writer/director,
"Offseason"
Writer/director Mickey Keating's SXSW Online Midnighter Offseason takes us to the Florida beach town of Lone Palm Beach. During the tourist season, Lone Beach Palm is like every other unassuming Florida beach town. But when the tourist season ends, as Marie Aldrich (Jocelin Donahue) quickly discovers, an indescribable darkness descends upon Lone Beach Palm and takes ahold of its year-round residents. Marie and her husband George (Joe Swanberg) travel to Lone Beach Palm to investigate the desecration of her mother's grave. When the bridge connecting Lone Beach Palm to the mainland is raised for the offseason, Marie and George find themselves trapped in a town that serves as home to an unseen evil. Indie genre favorite Mickey Keating previously directed Psychopaths, Carnage Park, Darling, Pod, and Ritual. Offseason premieres 8 p.m. central March 17 during SXSW Online, which runs through March 20. Aired: March 18, 2021. Web site: https://www.sxsw.com/festivals/film/ https://online.sxsw.com/ |
