Scrambled
The semi-autobiographical comedy Scrambled stars writer/director Leah McKendrick as Nellie, a 34-year-old free spirit who makes the sudden decision to freeze her eggs. Once she starts the procedure, Nellie undergoes an existential crisis, forcing her to rethink who she is a person, confront how she has led her life, and examine whether parenthood is really for her. Scrambled, which premiered locally during the 2023 SXSW Film & TV Festival, opened Feb. 2 in theaters. Leah McKendrick previously wrote and starred in the 2017 thriller M.F.A., which screened at SXSW. She also appeared in Bad Moms and Misconduct. McKendrick is currently writing I Know What You Did Last Summer legacy sequel, which will see the return of Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr., and is attached to direct Better Late Than Never.
