Texas Filmmaker's Showcase 2019
The Houston Film Commission’s Texas Filmmaker’s Showcase 2019 features five short films by directors from across the state. Austin is represented by three films: Lance Myers’ animated Boxer Story, Bryan Poser’s comedy Gopherit, Artemis Anastasiadou’s coming-of-age drama I Am MacKenzie, and Travis Lee Ratcliff’s documentary In the Space Between Ages, about sculptor Donal "Dony" MacManus. The Houston-based Daniel Levin directed the showcase's opening short, the experimental culture-clash dramedy Bagatelle. The Houston Film Commission’s Texas Filmmaker’s Showcase will screen at 8 p.m. Nov. 26 at the AFS Cinema.
