"Prospect"
Directed by Christopher Caldwell and Zeek Earl, the retro-futurtisic sci-fi thriller Prospect stars former Austinite Jay Duplass and Sophie Thatcher as a father-daughter team who travel to a distance moon to locate and extract valuable gems in a bid to pay off their debts. Their forest expedition turns deadly when they run afoul of an excavator (Narcos and Game of Thrones' Pedro Pascal) who demands they led him to the location of the large deposit of gems. Prospect is feature-length adaptation of the the short film by Christopher Caldwell and Zeek Earl. Jay Duplass, who stars in the TV series Transparent and the upcoming drama Outside In, has directed the films The Puffy Chair, Baghead, Cyrus, Jeff, Who Lives at Home, and The Do-Deca-Pentathlon with his brother Mark Duplass. Sophie Thatcher appeared in The Exorcist TV series. Prospect will screen during the SXSW Film Festival at 9:15 p.m. March 11 at the Alamo South Lamar and 10 p.m. March 14 at the Stateside Theatre and 9:30 p.m. March 15 at the Zach Theatre.
