![]() Co-written and directed by Gia Coppola, the satirical Mainstream explores our heavy reliance on mobile technology against the growing influence of and addiction to social media. Andrew Garfield stars as Link, a charming sidewalk philosopher whose aversion to handheld devices inexplicably turns him into the YouTube sensation #NoOneSpecial. Mainstream also stars Maya Hawke as Frankie, the bartender who "discovers" and helps transform Link into an Internet sensation. Nat Wolff costars as Jake, Frankie's writing partner on the #NoOneSpecial parody gameshow "Your Phone Or Your Dignity." Mainstream opened May 7 in theaters. Gia Coppola, the daughter of film producer Gian-Carlo Coppola and the granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola, previously directed Palo Alto. Aired: May 6, 2021.
