Interview:
Jon Heder,
"Napoleon Dynamite"
What the fudge? The Paramount Summer Classic Series celebrates the 15th anniversary of the 2004 comedy Napoleon Dynamite at 7:30 p.m. July 13 at the Paramount Theatre with cast members Jon Heder, Efren Ramirez, and Jon Gries in attendance. Co-written and directed by Jared Hess, Napoleon Dynamite stars Jon Heder as the somewhat strange and definitely socially awkward high school student. As if trying to survive high school isn't enough, Napoleon must contend with his visiting Uncle Rico (Jon Gries) while his grandmother recovers from an accident. Napoleon butts heads with the contentious door-to-door salesman and former high school quarterback, who recruits Napoleon’s brother Kip (Aaron Ruell) to help him make some quick and easy money. Napoleon finds solace in friendships with new student Pedro (Efren Ramirez) and the shy Deb (Tina Majorino). After Napoleon Dynamite became the indie hit of the summer of 2004, Heder starred in Just Like Heaven, School for Scoundrels, Blades of Glory, Mama’s Boy, When in Rome, Walt Before Mickey, Ghost Team, The Tiger Hunter, and When Jeff Tried to Save the World. Heder also lent his voice to Monster House, Surf’s Up, and Surf's Up 2: WaveMania, Fox's 2012 Napoleon Dynamite animated series, and Disney XD's Pickle and Peanut.
