"Lady of the Manor"
Cowritten and directed by brothers Justin Long and Christian Long, the bawdy supernatural comedy Lady of the Manor finds an unruly stoner (Melanie Lynskey) unexpectedly coming under the tutelage of a prim and proper ghost (Judy Greer). When her life is suddenly turned upside down, Hannah (Lynskey) is forced to take a job conducting tours of a Savannah historic home known as Wadsworth Manor. Hannah’s disruptive behavior incurs the wrath of the ghost of Lady Wadsworth (Greer), who died in 1875 in the house under mysterious circumstances and remains stuck in limbo. Hannah and Lady Wadsworth strike an uneasy truce when the former accepts the latter’s help to get her life in order through lessons in etiquette and Southern gentility. Lady of the Manor also stars Ryan Phillippe as Hannah’s sleazy boss Tanner Wadsworth and Justin Long as Max, a local academic and historian with a keen interest in Wadsworth Manor. Patrick Duffy and Luis Guzmán also make supporting appearances. Lady of the Manor opened Sept. 17 in theaters and is also available for digital and on-demand viewing. Brothers Justin Long and Christian Long make their directorial debut with Lady of the Manor. Justin Long, who once maintained a home in Austin, previously starred in Jeepers Creepers, Live Free or Die Hard, Herbie Fully Loaded, Galaxy Quest, Accepted, Idiocracy, Drag Me to Hell, Going the Distance, The Wave, and the Kevin Smith films Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Tusk, Yoga Hosers, and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. He also is the voice of Alvin for the Alvin and the Chipmunks film franchise. Christian Long previously collaborated with Justin Long on the 2013 romance A Case of You and produced the 2014 crime comedy The Lookalike, which also starred Justin Long.
