"Pelican Blood"
In the Fantastic Fest psychological drama Pelican Blood, a horse trainer travels from Germany to Bulgaria to adopt a 5-year-old girl. At first, Raya (Katerina Lipovska) seems content to live with her adoptive mother Wiebke (Nina Hoss) and gets along well with her new sister Nicotine (Adelia-Constance Ocleppo). But Raya, who was orphaned under terrible circumstances, soon begins to act out violently. When Raya is diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder, Wiebke vows to fight for Raya's love and devotion. But the cost is much higher than Wiebke expects. Katrin Gebbe previously directed Nothing Bad Can Happen and contributed the segment A Nocturnal Breath to the Tim League-produced horror anthology The Field Guide to Evil. Pelican Blood will screen 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 during Fantastic Fest at the Alamo South Lamar Posted: Sept. 23, 2019 Web site: https://fantasticfest.com/films/pelican-blood |
