writer/director,
"It Comes at Night"
Houston-born writer/director Trey Edward Shults follows up his deeply personal family drama Krisha with It Comes at Night, a chilling study in paranoia that’s set in the aftermath of a virus that has wiped out countless millions. Shults focuses on two families who band together to survive not just the virus but the real and imagined dangers that lurk beyond the front red door of the cabin they share deep in the woods. Joel Edgerton heads the cast, which includes Selma’s Carmen Ejogo as his wife and newcomer Kelvin Harrison Jr. as their son. Christopher Abbott and Riley Keough costar as the young parents Edgerton and Ejogo allow into their home. Shults, who attended Texas State University, made his directorial debut with the SXSW Grand Jury Prize-winning Krisha, which he shot in nine days at his parents’ home in Montgomery. The cast featured actors with Austin ties and family members, including his aunt, Krisha Fairchild. It Comes at Night opened June 9.
