![]() The Austin Film Society kicks off 2023 with the series "Sight & Sound Critics Top 5," which features the poll's five most celebrated films, Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles, Vertigo, Citizen Kane, Tokyo Story, and In the Mood for Love. The miniseries "Documentary & Beyond: Agnès Varda" features Lions Love (and Other Lies), The Gleaners and I, and the pairing of The Black Panthers and Uncle Yanco. Rainer Werner Fassbinder's 1973 German TV movie World on a Wire will be shown in two parts in 35 mm. New releases include All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, Broker, Corsage, EO, and Saint Omer. Best of the Fests selections include Leonor Will Never Die and Moon, 66 Questions. Documentaries include King: A Filmed Record ... Montgomery to Memphis and Love in the Time of Fentanyl. Retrospective and newly restored screenings include All About Eve, Apocalypse Now: The Final Cut, The Double Life of Veronique, North By Northwest, Paris, Texas, and The Red Shoes. The Queer Cinema: Lost & Found series brings Richard Benner's Outrageous! to the AFS Cinema. The Man Who Sleeps, Pornostar, Tales From the Gimli Hospital (Redux), and Morning Patrol round out the Lates.
