Interview:
Isa Mazzei,
screenwriter,
Daniel Goldhaber,
director,
Madeline Brewer,
"Cam"
Note: This interview is NSFW. In the Blumhouse Productions/Netflix chiller Cam, Alice (The Handmaid's Tale's Madeline Brewer, right)—operating as a cam girl under the name "Lola"—devises strange and imaginative ways to boost her popularity on a webcam site that is home to thousands of competitors. But her best-laid plans are thwarted when a doppelgänger hijacks her online identity. Cam marks the directorial debut of Daniel Goldhaber (center) and represents the first produced screenplay by Isa Mazzei (left), who mines her experiences as a cam girl for a drama with supernatural elements. Cam will screen 2:20 p.m. Sept. 25 and 11:50 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Alamo South Lamar during Fantastic Fest. Update: Cam opened in Austin and debuted on Netflix on Nov. 16.
