"Dead Within"
In director Ben Wagner’s Dead Within, a couple (Dean Chekvala and Amy Cale Peterson) holes up for six month in a remote cabin to avoid becoming victims of a deadly virus of unknown origin. Mike and Kim face a harsh reality: starve to death or venture outside for food and supplies. While Mike faces the risk of encountering the infected during his run for provisions, Kim finds herself grappling with her personal demons as she remains alone inside the cabin. The Other Worlds Austin Sci-Fi Film Festival will screen Dead Within at 9 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Alamo Village with Ben Wagner in attendance. Dead Within is also available on DVD and VOD.
