![]() The Austin Film Society’s AFS Cinema offers two series in May 2022: 3X Bogdanovich, with Richard Linklater hosting screenings of the late director Peter Bogdanovich's What's Up Doc?, At Long Last Love, and the director's cut of Nickelodeon, and Monsters From the Id: Cold War Sci-fi and Horror, featuring The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Thing From Another World, the Japanese original and U.S. edit of Godzilla, King of the Monsters, and I Married a Monster From Outer Space. Special screenings include The Best Years of Our Lives hosted by "Making The Best Years Of Our Lives" author Alison Macor; 90 Minutes with a post-screening Q&A with director Aeden O’Connor Agurcia; The Wobblies, with “Frank Little and the IWW: The Blood That Stained an American Family" author Jane Little Botkin in attendance; Recoloration Proclamation, followed by a discussion with artist John Sims; and The Films of Mabel Normand, Silent Film Pioneer, with musical accompaniment by pianist Kirsten Boyd. New releases include director Celine Sciamma's Petite Maman. New documentaries include The Automat and The Reverend. Other repertory and newly restored screenings include Inland Empire, Mississippi Masala, Band of Outsiders, Kamikaze Hearts, Celine and Julie Go Boating, and The Harder They Come.
