![]() The Austin Film Society’s AFS Cinema offers two series in April 2022: Unleashed Desires: Lost Films of Taiwan, presented with the Austin Asian American Film Festival and the Taiwan Ministry of Culture, and Children of Abraham/Ibrahim, with a focus on new films from the Middle East. Special screenings and new releases include Austin-based director Keith Maitland's documentary Dear Mr. Brody and the roadshow presentation of Apichatpong Weerasethaku's Memoria. The AFS Cinema will screen the documentary Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched: A History of Folk Horror in advance of The Wicker Man (1973). Other repertory and newly restored screenings include The Third Man, Mulholland Drive, Eve's Bayou, Stalker, Out of the Blue, Bronco Bullfrog, and the Queer Cinema: Lost and Found selections Shortbus and Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean. Lates include Morgiana, Himizu, Romance, and Sound and Fury. Directors Maya Cueva and Leah Galant will attend a screening of their McAllen, Texas, abortion-focused documentary On the Divide.
