Interview:
Sean Durkin,
writer/director,
"The Nest"
Written and directed by Sean Durkin, the drama The Nest offers a portrait of a family in crisis. With business opportunities drying up in the United States, former commodities broker Rory (Jude Law) moves his American family to his native England in the hopes of reversing his fortunes. But his horse-trainer wife Allison (Carrie Coon), their son Benjamin (Charlie Shotwell), and his step-daughter Samantha (Oona Roche) struggle to acclimate to life outside of London. Living in a centuries-old country manor that is too big for four people also contributes to Allison, Benjamin, and Samantha's growing misery and sense of isolation. The Nest opened Sept. 18 in Austin theaters. Sean Durkin previously directed Martha Marcy May Marlene and the miniseries Southcliffe.
