Having co-directed Crank, Crank 2: High Voltage, Gamer, and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance with Brian Taylor, Mark Neveldine goes solo with The Vatican Tapes. The horror film, which opened July 24, stars Ant-Man’s Michael Peña as a priest fighting for the soul of a young woman from a demon. Olivia Taylor Dudley is the possessed woman in need of an exorcism; Dougray Scott plays her father. Mark Neveldine discusses what led him to direct The Vatican Tapes, the work involved in reverse engineering what was originally conceived as a found-footage chiller, and the status of Crank 3.
