Now in its third year, MondoCon 2016 will be held Oct. 22-23 at the Marchesa Hall & Theater. The convention celebrates film, music, art, comic books, posters, and toys. The highlight of MondoCon 2016 will likely be a conversation with composer Clint Mansell to mark the vinyl release of his soundtrack to 2006’s The Fountain, which follows a screening of the Darren Aronofsky existential epic. There also will be panels devoted to Mondo, soundtracks, toy making, and posters; a live poster draw and design with Olly Moss, Jock and Jay Shaw; and screenings of A Clockwork Orange, Enter the Dragon, and a mystery movie. MondoCon will close Oct. 23 with Le Matos performing tracks from the Turbo Kid soundtrack and their debut LP, "Join Us." Before MondoCon 2016 kicks off Oct. 22, a reception featuring artwork by Jason Edmiston and Ken Taylor will be held Oct. 21 at the Mondo Gallery. Mondo is the Alamo Drafthouse’s collectible art boutique.
