"Don't Tell Larry"
The Dallas-shot Don’t Tell Larry is what happens when you let your ambitions get the better of you. In Greg Porper and John Schimke’s workplace comedy, Susan (She-Hulk’s Patty Guggenheim) fully expects to be named CEO of Good Lake Cruises when her boss Bruce (Ed Begley Jr.) retires. But Bruce fires Susan after she fails to invite his weird new hire Larry (Kiel Kennedy) to his retirement party. Without warning, Good Lakes Cruises finds itself without a CEO. Which works to Susan’s advantage because Bruce had not filed formal notification of her immediate dismissal. However, Susan must still contend with Larry, whom she suspects has psychopathic tendency. Fearing for both her career prospects and her life, Susan conspires with her work colleague and best friend Patrick (Kenneth Mosley) to get Larry fired. Of course, not everything goes to Susan’s plan. Don’t Tell Larry screens during the Austin Film Festival at 9:15 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Galaxy Theatres Austin and 9:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at Rollins Theatre at the Long Center for Performing Arts. An expansion of their 2018 web series of the same name, Don’t Tell Larry represents the feature film directorial debut of Greg Porper and John Schimke.
