"The Fallout"
Written and directed by actress Megan Park, The Fallout examines the traumatic stress experienced by two high school shooting survivors, Vada and Mia. The students find comfort in each other as they struggle to cope with life after the tragic event. But Vada's inability to understand why she survived the shooting results in a downward spiral. Jenna Ortega of Scream, Jane the Virgin, Stuck in the Middle, and You plays Vada. Maddie Ziegler of Music and West Side Story plays Mia. The cast also includes Shailene Woodley, Julie Bowen, and John Ortiz. The Fallout, which premiered during last year’s SXSW Online, won the SXSW Narrative Feature Competition Grand Jury Award and writer/director Megan Park won the Brightcove Illumination Award. The Fallout begins streaming Jan. 27 on HBO Max. Megan Park makes her directorial debut with The Fallout. She starred in the TV series The Secret Life of the American Teenager and the films Central Intelligence, Room, Demonic, So Undercover, Diary of the Dead, and Charlie Bartlett. Aired: Jan. 20, 2022.
