Interview:
Bridget Everett,
"Patti Cake$"
In writer/director Geremy Jasper's musical drama Patti Cake$, New Jerseyite Patricia Dombrowski (Danielle Macdonald) dreams of life as a rap star. Operating first under the rap name Killa P, and then Patti Cake$, Patricia fights tooth and nail against the demands of her unsupportive mother Barb (Inside Amy Schumer and Lady Dynamite's Bridget Everett) to abandon her ambitions and get on with her life. Comedian and cabaret performer Bridget Everett will next be seen in the Netflix film Little Evil, debuting Sept. 1, and the upcoming Amazon comedy Love You More. Patti Cake$, which received its Austin premiere during this year's SXSW Film Festival, opened Aug. 25.
